About Me

My name is Adrian DeSaussure, and I’m running for North Charleston City Council, District 1 because I believe our community deserves leadership that listens, leads with integrity, and puts people first.

I have lived in the Forest Hills community since 2004, and North Charleston has been home to my family for decades. My wife and I have been married for over 26 years, and together we raised four children right here in our city. Our family’s commitment to service runs deep — from military service to city employment and community involvement.

Professionally, I am a small business owner and IT consultant with more than 20 years of experience supporting local businesses, healthcare organizations, and community institutions. Through my company, DeSaussure Computer Services, I’ve helped organizations grow, stay secure, and operate more efficiently. This experience has given me a strong understanding of budgeting, infrastructure, accountability, and problem-solving — skills that matter in city government.

Beyond my professional work, I have spent over two decades mentoring youth and volunteering with Parks & Recreation, serving as a coach and community advocate. I believe investing in our young people, supporting families, and strengthening neighborhoods are essential to building a safer and more prosperous North Charleston.

My vision is simple: a District 1 where residents feel heard, neighborhoods are respected, and growth benefits everyone — not just a few.

I’m not running for a title. I’m running to serve.

Together, we can build a stronger future for District 1 and all of North Charleston.
